PRE-OLYMPIC EVENT - QINGDAO
|
Jo Aleh and Andrew Murdoch represented New Zealand at
the pre-Olympic event in Qingdao in August.
Jo won the silver medal after an exciting medal race, in which she,
and eventual winner Anna Tunnicliffe of USA, match raced each other
around the course as the only two contenders for gold.
Andrew finished in 7th place, and also had some great races during
the event.
As expected, there was a mixture of conditions from no wind with lots
of current, (leaving boats motionless in wind against tide) to an
easterly breeze of 9-10 knots with lumpy sea conditions for the medal
race. |
